is the outine of steps required to successfully complete the admissions
process at Beacon Day.

Round Applications |
Rolling
Admissions after March deadline-space permitting. Early
Childhood group tours continue in Spring and Summer and
applications accepted until classes are full. |
Priority
will be given to applicants who have filed their paperwork by
the deadlines.

Application
for Admission: |

| a. |
Complete and mail your application with the $40 fee for
Early Childhood and $75 fee for K-8th grade, a copy of
your child's birth certificate and a recent photo of your
child to the Admissions Office. |
| b. |
Distribute
letters of recommendation forms as follows: Early Childhood,
Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants must submit one
letter of recommendation (from current teacher). Applicants
for grades 2-8 must submit a second letter of recommendation
(preferably last year's classroom teacher). Letters of
recommendation are confidential and must be mailed directly
to Beacon Day School from the teacher who completed it
or your child's school office. Faxed letters of recommendation
will not be accepted. |

Applicants
for 6th-8th grades must fill out the transcript release
form and give it to your current school. |

Student Evaluation for Admission |

| a. |
Early
Childhood applicants will visit for several hours in one
of our classrooms. Parents/guardians meet with the Early
Childhood Director for feedback immediately following
the visit |
| b. |
K-5th
grade applicants will be scheduled for a one-on-one assessment
with our Director of Education to determine readiness
for a particular grade level. |
| c. |
6th-8th
grade applicants will be scheduled for a visit and assessment
morning. A ninety-minute visit in the classrooms is followed
by a thirty-minute assessment including a writing sample,
math problems and a short interview. |

| 4. |
Tuition
Assistance |
|
The
tuition Assistance program encourages all families who need
assistance to apply. Complete the TA request card (in your application
packet) so we can mail you the required forms in early January.
The deadline for TA applications is Monday, February 2, 2009.
Awards are made based on availability and demonstrated need.
Awards will be mailed with the March 8th admissions decisions
only to families who have a complete TA application on file.

Acceptance
and wait list letters will be mailed on March 12, 2009.
To accept our invitation for placement at Beacon Day School,
a signed enrollment contract and a non-refundable deposit equaling
15% of the annual tuition must be received by Friday, March
20, 2009 no later than 9:00 am in the morning. |
